Strike it Up!

On February 16, 2010, The Strike It Up Tour (SIU) will launch in Houston, Texas and set the tone for the new agenda for national economic growth. This business matching experience will be unmatched in its innovation and delivery because there are no boundaries to opportunity. “Too often, traditional business conferences and trade shows have been locked in the ‘niche’ mentality,” states Meta J. Mereday, Business Development Consultant and SIU Co-Founder. “We are focused on the ‘opportunity’ mentality and bringing a wider variety of businesses together to strike up a business partnership and grow their company.”  Houston was designated as the launch city for the tour because it represents many of the components that fit the SIU format.  “Our model is designed to work from the inside of our target cities and we will bring the people from within those cities and incorporate strategic tools to ‘up’ their opportunities.”

SIU will enhance the existing infrastructure for local businesses, major corporations, educational institutions, social organizations, and community groups to “strike matches” that generates funds, addresses issues and motivates growth. “Research has shown that small business still represent that backbone of our economy, but there are still many small businesses that can benefit from the tools that we are bringing that sparks new ideas and new directions to help their businesses to not only survive in this current environment, but to grow,” adds Tammy Camper, Principal Resultant, Strategic Transformation Partners and SIU Co-Founder. “We have proven programs that can generate those matches and expand business operations in new and unique areas.”

Bringing together corporations, public agencies, government representatives, educational facilities, community organizations, churches, manufacturers, social service groups, small businesses, aspiring businesses, independent contractors et al together in an interactive and engaging environment, the objective of the SIU Tour is to ignite the local business model and build an opportunity channel that develops long term economic growth and community empowerment from the ground up. “Our objective is not to come into host cities and take money and resources out, but to motivate and stimulate the local business infrastructure and leave behind a proactive economic game plan,” adds Mereday.
